This is part of RCA's gimmicky "Stereo Action" series billed "The sound your eyes can follow" (if you are cross-eyed, that is). The engineer uses a balance knob (or panning potentiometer) to slide individual instruments back and forth within the stereo image, moving left and right and left and right and left and right, etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseum. RCA recorded select albums this way from 1960 to 1963
